And the insane beat goes on…

‘Right’ is ‘Wrong’, ‘Wrong’ is ‘Right’. ‘Wrongthink’ is punishable, ‘Rightthink’ is rewarded.

I swear it’s Owellian!

Governor “Gruesome” Newsom kept his job this week. Not that there was much doubt he would. In a state as loaded with Democrats as California it’s surprising that there was even a recall election at all.

The State Democrats though, have responded to this existential “Threat” to their power by taking steps to limit the possibility of recall elections in the future. In my cynical brain, that means that the law will probably read something like; “No recall election shall be permitted against an elected official of the Democratic Party. However any elected Republican Official may be recalled at any time. The recall process shall only require 1/4 of the California Legislature’s approval, no mass election shall be necessary.”

Their justification will be something along the lines of being fiscally responsible; “By doing away with the mass public election cycle the state will be able to save millions of tax payers dollars.”

General Mark Milley Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, pretty much committed treason in the last days of Former President Trumps administration. This one is head snapping for someone like myself.

Milley claims that he was concerned about Trump launching nuclear weapons against the Chinese. I ask, in what universe is that even a concern? It’s not like the President of the United States can just arbitrarily decide to launch nukes. The only scenario I know of where The President can initiate a launch on his own authority, is If missile are already flying toward the US.

Otherwise, Congress has the authority. If there is not a state of war between the US and another country nukes are not an option. The President can scream and yell all he or she wants, but the launch isn’t supposed to happen. Congress wouldn’t agree, and the Military would in theory be well within their rights to refuse to carry out such an illegal order.

What Milley did, was well beyond refusing an illegal order. No such order had been given. Milley went behind not only the sitting President’s back. Apparently he also acted without the Secretary of Defense’s knowledge. Here we have a General contacting a foreign, technically ‘hostile’ government while at the same time attempting to route any and all orders and communications through his office alone.

That folks is not only treasonous, it’s the stuff of a banana republic coup d’état. That’s how you end up with military dictators for life. How many times have we seen something like this play out in other countries over the past 60 years?

You can bet your ass if Milley had done the same thing at the end of say, Joe Biden’s administration. Congress would be screaming for his head on a pike. Let’s face it, Joe Biden in his current state is far more likely to issue such an illegal order.

Can you say Afghanistan???

Unsurprisingly, Nancy Pelosi is in the shadows. The Pentagon has confirmed that she and Milley were colluding prior to Milley contacting his counterpart in the Chinese Government.

Of greater concern to me, is that none of the officers under General Milley stood up refusing to accept or execute what was very probably an illegal order from General Milley. They had that option. They too swore an oath to protect and defend The Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.

The fact that none of the other Admirals and Generals in that room with Milley had the balls to level charges of sedition and treason is flat out terrifying. In elder times, Milley would have been clapped in irons and brought before a military tribunal within days.

The terrifying part for me is their lack of action, or concern, suggests that they can be bought. I’m sure that intelligence officers in every hostile nation are right now trying to figure out how to buy a senior member of the Joint Chiefs.

I look at it this way. They didn’t say anything because either they were worried about their careers, pensions and retirement, or they are amenable to the overthrow of the United States.

Either way, it’s like the old joke about the guy propositioning a woman in a bar.

Guy: “Would you sleep with me for a $100?”
Woman: “Absolutely not!”
Guy: “Would you sleep with me for a million dollars?”
Woman: “Maybe, do you have a million dollars? I don’t want you to think I’m a whore.”
Guy: “We’ve already established you’re a whore, now we’re just haggling over price.”

I wouldn’t be surprised to find that there have been huge offers of cash extended from foreign governments, to various upper level staff in The Pentagon.

Milley’s continued presence in his position besmirches the honor of our military, and demonstrates that we are weak in that, we aren’t even up to the task of enforcing our own laws.

Milley shouldn’t resign. Milley should be arrested, and brought before a Military Tribunal, then tried under the UCMJ. I think the penalty for treason is still death. If he’s found guilty, so be it.

(Just a reminder, I’m not now and haven’t been in the military. Therefore, I might be a little unclear on the details of how this works. Military folks reading this, please correct me via comments.)

Speaking of the 25th amendment…

There are still people banging on about Donald Trump. Saying that he should have been removed from office via the 25th amendment.

Really? You’re still harping on that? Newsflash… Donald Trump isn’t The President anymore!

In the immortal words of Hillary Rodham Clinton, “What does it matter at this point anyway?”

You folks out there still bitching about the 25th, might want to shut up. The 25th amendment applies equally to any sitting President. Just sayin…

In closing here is something that I was personally gratified to see.

The Riverside County Sheriff is refusing to implement the vaccine mandate.

The Sheriff cites The Constitution and his oath of office in his decision. I swear I’d like to shake this man’s hand and buy him a beer.

Thank God there are still some men in this country who have a set of balls.

So that’s the highlights of the news. Well, not all the highlights, these are the things that caught most of my attention this week.

I’m still waiting to see how badly insulted the Australians are by Biden forgetting who he was talking to during the announcement of AUKUS defense pact.

Biden called the Australian Prime Minister, “That fella down under…”

Not an auspicious beginning to a new defense pact.

Congratulations to Richard Branson!

Very well done Sir!

I was astounded, that in the wake of Branson’s achievement instead of congratulations, there were pundits, politicians, and wags, saying things like, “This is why we need a billionaire wealth tax.”

SAY WHAT???

Branson, used his own money, legally earned, requisite taxes paid, and he built a space craft. Then he further put his money where his mouth was and climbed aboard for a flight.

The thing could have malfunctioned, and freeze dried Branson and his crew, it could have exploded, it could have crashed. Thankfully it didn’t, but there was a rather high element of risk in the adventure.

All you have to do to recognize that is look at our planetary history of space travel. That particular history is littered with brave pioneers who died due to various accidents. Remember the Challenger? How about Columbia? Both of those were tried and true pieces of technology which had flown many times before. So much so, that the shuttle launches had become almost ho-hum.

Were I a Branson, Bezos, or Musk. I too would be working to get my own ships into space. The moment my technology worked well enough that I could build a space station, I wouldn’t come back to Earth.

Why bother? The petty politics of this planet and stupidity of our leaders make space look pretty darn attractive.

Space is like international waters. I could keep what I salvaged, and there’s not a damn thing the politicians or practically anyone else could for to stop me.

My next move would be to make the long assed journey to the asteroid belt and start claiming mineral rights on various asteroids. I’d catalog the minerals, and then start the bidding.

“Oh China, you need 220 million tons of nickel? What’s your opening bid?”

“Russia, you need iron? How much? What’s your bid?”

“Germany, you need copper? I’ve got a nice little asteroid just full of the stuff, What’s your bid?”

The whole while I’d be telling politicians, “TAX THIS”

I wouldn’t be asking for money, I’d be asking for Oxygen, Food, Water, and only materials that I couldn’t mine, make, or make use of from the asteroids themselves. I’d be looking for Ice (Water, Methane, Co2) you name it, because I suspect in short order I could make my asking price machines that would be able to refine those materials in my space station too.

Earth would always be my point of origin, a pretty blue speck in the solar system. But a shithole of politics and petty disagreeable people. I’d market employment to folks that could and would work for a living.

I’d give folks another choice, if we decided to take Mars for ourselves, colonize it, and build a better world there’d be no-one who could stop us.

You wouldn’t want to be “fired” from my enterprise because that would mean being sent back to Earth, the shithole, the place where you’d be detained, questioned by moronic politicians looking for some “Crime”, and then taxed on your presumed profits.

Space wouldn’t be an easy, or a safe life, but it would be your life. A life where you were directly in control of your destiny.

For all of you reading this that are thinking., “That will never happen. These billionaires are just playing around because they have the money to waste,” Think again.

Musk has already set his sights on Mars. Branson is talking about space tourism. God only knows what Bezo’s goal is. But each of these guys became a billionaire by seeing opportunity and exploiting it.

If you think they’re doing all of this just to see who’s dick is bigger think again!

One ex NASA engineer was quoted as saying something like, these guys are making advances, spending in a year, what NASA spent in a month. Think about that. How fast do you think innovation is going to happen now that private companies know it’s possible to make their own ships?

With the ability to make ships comes competition about who makes the best ships, the fastest ships, the best engines, the best navigation, Branson’s Unity will probably look like the Wright Brothers plane in 70 years or so. Earth will probably become a quaint little backwater where people are still bitching about politics, religion, poverty, skin color, equity versus equality, and who to tax next.

The real power brokers of humanity will be stretching across our solar system, and beyond.

Space, work ethic, and capitalism, will be the great equalizers. You fuck up in space, and no one will ever hear you whine or scream about the unfairness of it all. If you’re beyond the orbit of Mars and fuck up, you’ll likely be dead and frozen for an hour before anyone gets your first call for help.

Space makes no judgement about you, it will kill you given a chance. All meat is dead meat to the harshness of vacuum.

Oh for God’s sake! I’m so over this Woke Bullshit!

Caught an article talking about the James Webb Space telescope and how there are some people who think that the telescope should be renamed so that it doesn’t honor James Webb.

Artist Rendering: James Webb Space Telescope

Webb was the second person to lead NASA and did so from 1961 – 1968.

This particular controversy doesn’t arise from the all too common hackneyed phrase of racism.

You do realize that we’re still removing historical figures based on their supposed racism in the 1600’s right???

This controversy is about Webb being the director of NASA during the Lavender scare or Pink Purge.

The Lavender Scare was a period of time when the United States Government sought to purge all homosexuals from their ranks.

The thought was that homosexuals couldn’t be trusted because they were forced to live their lives in the closet. As such, the thinking went, all homosexuals were security risks because all it would take is a commie to find out someone was queer and then blackmail them.

Given the times, it wasn’t actually a bad line of reasoning. In the 1960’s homosexuality was considered a mental illness, and illegal in most states. A queer could lose their job, their home, and be sent to an asylum for their “un-natural” behavior.

Gay men were commonly beaten up, mutilated, or killed, but Lesbians had it worse. There were a lot of men who believed that a lesbian was a lesbian, because she hadn’t had the right cock shoved inside her. Lots of real bastards would volunteer to be that magical dick that made a lesbian a “real” woman.

Picture the almost rape scene from “Kill Bill“. Except that the woman is tied down in an insane asylum and raped at any time, by any orderly who happened to get a hard on.

Oh and let’s not forget routine electro convulsive therapy. A.K.A. Electro shock. Apparently there was a school of thought that said the Gay could be shocked out of the poor soul and make them ‘right as rain’.

These factors would pretty much insure that a Homosexual would do anything to prevent themselves from being discovered.

Alan Turing

Look up Alan Turing sometime.

He helped defeat the NAZI Enigma encryption machine, could arguably be called the father of modern computing, and still ended up committing suicide (Although the suicide is still being debated,) because he happened to be homosexual.

I’m not saying that any of this was right, It absolutely wasn’t.

However those were the times.

(As an aside, this kind of persecution is still going on in the Middle East. The “woke” crowd is very willing to ignore it, because it’s ‘Middle Eastern Culture‘. While at the same time the “woke” crowd goes back 200, 100, 60, or 50 years and condemns people for shit that we’ve grown out of, for the most part.)

J Edgar Hoover

The Lavender Scare was being perpetrated by none other than the FBI. Who at the time had as its head a crossdressing asshole named J. Edgar Hoover. Uhh duplicitous much?

It’s arguable that the Lavender Scare was rooted in McCarthyism. A dark time in our history famous for the question, “Are you now, or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?

The gay purge probably got started there, and just continued on under its own momentum after Senator McCarthy was considered passé.

In the case of James Webb, he happened to be NASA’s director during this time.

So let’s look at this logically. Webb was the director of NASA, he answered to Congress.

James Webb

Congress has this funny little organization called the FBI who loves digging up dirt on people. J Edgar Hoover really liked having leverage over anyone in power.

Webb had a career, a family, and believed that we should conquer space.

There were hundreds of former NAZI scientists working throughout government labs (brought over during Operation Paper Clip) including one guy by the name of Wernher Van Braun.

Webb knew there is no way in hell that the FBI was ever going to leave his people alone to do their jobs… So he made a choice.

MSFC CENTER DIRECTOR VON BRAUN, WERNHER-DR. IN HIS OFFICE WITH ROCKET MODELS IN BACKGROUND. 5/18/64

He chose not be obstructionist to the FBI.

Webb chose to keep moving the space program forward.

He in good conscience didn’t defend a group of people that Medical Science, (hey, they believed the science then too,) said were sick in the head, and that the government’s security and intelligence community said were a danger because they could be compromised by the commie bastards in Russia, placing the whole of the Space Program in jeopardy.

It doesn’t matter where he came down morally on boys who do with boys.

He had a Mission to the moon to worry about. I daresay he didn’t worry too much about a few “sick fucks” being purged from his staff.

That does not make Webb a bad man. It makes him a product of his time.

Webb’s scientific achievements merit his name being on the telescope.

I think that we’re looking at something different. I think this name change is nothing more than an attempt to purge another white guy from history.

I think this controversy is nothing more than some “Woke” asshole digging into Webbs history and finding nothing more than a shred of potential guilt that can be hung around his neck, then using this “assigned guilt” to erase Webb’s achievements and legacy.

Harriet Tubman

The authors of the article suggest the telescope be called the Harriet Tubman telescope. While Harriet Tubman was no doubt an American hero, and should be remembered with respect, she was not a scientist. Tubman, like the rest of the people alive in her day was probably very content to leave the mysteries of the firmament in God’s capable hands.

James Webb on the other hand most likely wanted to see God’s hands shaping the heavens.

In my opinion, the latter makes the case for his name being on the space telescope.

We need to stop judging people of the past by the morals of the present. This behavior is irrational and destructive.

We need to look at leaders (whether heroic or despotic) of the past in context of their times. Only then can we see that humanity is progressing (however slowly) toward a better future.

We need to be able to observe past events with an unflinching realism, because only in understanding the errors and successes of the past, can we hope to build a livable future.
