Oh FFS! Have Conservatives and Republicans lost their damn minds?

To be clear, I have an intense dislike for James Comey. It started when he was demanding Apple provide the FBI with backdoor access to iPhones to make it easy for the FBI to engage in illegal searches and surveillance of citizen’s phones.

I felt at the time that his demands were antithetical to the protections afforded by The Constitution against illegal search and seizure. I still feel that way. Then he protected Hillary Clinton over her illegal email server and destruction of evidence. All the while facilitating investigations of people who disagreed with Obama.

People who were exercising their rights by attempting to start grass roots political organizations because they felt that neither the Democrat or Republican Party was serving the best interests of the people. A.K.A. Folks who called out the government at large and Obama Administration in particular.

The guy is an absolute douche bag. He should have been tried for his malfeasance and if found guilty put in prison. At the very least he should have been forced out of the FBI much sooner than he was and faded from public view.

All that being said, this latest controversy over 8647 is complete and utter bullshit.

Anybody that’s been around a bar on a Friday or Saturday night knows exactly what 86 means. If a bouncer threatens to 86 you from a bar it means you’re going to be asked to leave. Usually for the night because you’re too rowdy, but in extreme cases, you can be 86’ed permanently.

Comey knew that. He can’t be that stupid, and if he is that stupid, he should never have been the director of the fucking FBI.

This wasn’t a death threat, it wasn’t a call to do harm to the President, it was a simple exercise of free speech. (You know, the First Amendment?) It’s well known that Comey doesn’t like President Trump. I don’t care if he simply took a picture, or if he positioned the stones himself. He’s entitled to exercise free speech, as are we all.

The message is simple. 8647 means throw Trump out of office. That’s it. Reading anything more into it is just stupid.

This is no different than wishing to throw Obama out of office, or Biden, or Bush, or Clinton, or Nixon. There have been, and always will be, people that believe the President sucks and it’s their right to say it.

Conservatives and Republicans making a big deal out of this simply debases both groups to the same level of stupid as their Democrat and leftist counterparts.

Comey is an asshole. That’s been obvious for a long time.

The rest of us don’t have to be assholes, nor should we drop to their level.

I think this whole thing is nothing more than part of a smoke screen to obscure that Congress isn’t getting enough done, Biden was never in control of the government, and the leftists are gearing up for another “Summer of Love”. A.K.A. riots and looting disguised as protests.

We need to keep our eyes on the ball. Regardless of where any of us stand on politics. We all know something is deeply wrong and our country is / has been in trouble for a long while.

Continuing on as if nothing is wrong does not serve us. What does serve us, is trying to make things better by trying different approaches, then keeping what works, and tossing aside those ideas that don’t work.

I’m ready to see DOJ indictments against those people who have been the architects of this mess we’re in. I think a great starting point is with Congressional members who have been in power for 20, 30, 40, or 50 years. There’s a lot to suggest that many members of Congress have failed their duties, The People, and their oaths of office, while becoming wealthy in the process. All of which should be actionable in a court of law.

It’s also time for plans to be drawn up to ensure once our government is cleaned up, this sort of thing can never happen again.

My personal short list is:

No more Congressional stock trades.

All members of Congress shall be under oath to the American People at all times, under penalty of immediate imprisonment. No more lies!

Term limits similar to those of The President.

Members of Congress using the same medical coverage as The People.

No more of Congress voting to give themselves raises.

If the Government shuts down, so does Congressional pay. I’d even be in favor of Congress losing 2X their daily pay for each day the government is shut down.

No more paid lobbyists. No more big campaign donations from corporations, unions, or anyone else.

Level the campaign/elections playing field so that all candidates must demonstrate their ability to budget and win their elections on merit, not funding.

Congress shall turn in a balanced budget and shall not recess until they’ve done so.

No more pork bills. One bill, one issue, one law, at a time. That makes repealing ill conceived laws a hell of a lot easier.

Mandatory reviews of laws and immediate repeal of laws which have negative unintended consequences.

Just to list a few ideas.

Though I obviously don’t speak for all Americans, I’m personally tired of Congress kicking the can down the road, playing with Trillions of tax dollars, drinking champagne and eating caviar at beltway parties, while people like me are down to eating one meal a day.

I’d also say it’s well past time for James Comey to be 86’ed from the airwaves. Why are we still having to put up with his bullshit?

Why I’ve really started hating people. Let me count the ways!

Ok, social media is definitely not for me.

Picture it as a broken sewer main of shitty people with a very occasional super nice person.

LinkedIn – For fucks sake has turned into Facebook with a pseudo business bent. I’ve been on LinkedIn since 2019, when much to my dismay I was told I needed to have it so that HR people could reach out to me, as our company was laying us all off.

Since then it’s been completely useless as a vehicle for finding a job and NO, I repeat, NO HR person has reached out to me. For a while it looked like they were turning it into a dating, pro-Palestine, DEI, & god knows what else kind of site.  None of which I’m interested in.

X/Twitter – OMG! Talk about a broken sewer pipe! Perhaps it’s that I’m easily bored. But damn! My most recent mistake on that site is that I commented on someone I didn’t realize was a flat Earther about being unsurprised that satellites wouldn’t show up in photos of astronauts working outside the ISS.

Satellites are relatively small, tend not to have running lights and most likely wouldn’t be seen unless they happened to reflect sunlight.

I went on to say I always missed seeing stars in the NASA photos and it bugged me. I once asked NASA why that was. They told me that often photos of planets would have the backgrounds blacked out to enhance the photo of the planet or object that was the actual subject of the photo.

Okay, that makes sense.

Credit: Don Pettit @astro_PettitI mentioned that I’d like to see photos of our galaxy.

Then what happened was hundreds of people describing the way cameras work and this, that, and the other thing, including that space wasn’t real, we didn’t have people orbiting the earth, it was all fake etc. In the miasma of following shitposting, one post caught my attention.

This post was from the son of an actual astronaut and very nicely explained that the ISS when on the daylight side of Earth had the same problem as we do. The stars are simply too dim versus the brightness of the sun to see. Then he included some breathtakingly beautiful photos his Dad had taken from the ISS while on the dark side of Earth. When I say breathtaking I mean it. Seeing those photos brought tears to my eyes because of their beauty.

I thanked him for the concise explanation, (even though I felt like, “Duhhhh,” I should have figured that out myself,) and for sharing the beautiful photos has Dad took. We had a pleasant exchange and he directed me to his Father’s account, the NASA website, and a Flickr account that I’d never heard of, where the astronauts posted more personal pictures they’d taken.

Basically it was a super nice adult exchange and I genuinely appreciated the information. I told him so, and thanked he & his Father for sharing. Then, thinking that was the end of it I went to bed.

This morning, my X account was still blowing up. People were still reiterating what had already been discussed and piling on. Then more people, the flat earth folks were denying that the photos were real and just going on & on about that.

I don’t like controversy and really don’t like people piling on without reading the whole thread. Generally, I read all of a thread before opening my mouth and adding my 2 cents. Yes, sometimes I screw up and add something redundant to a thread but I really try to avoid doing that, as it’s a waste of my time and everyone else’s time who may be in the comment thread.

However, in this case, (which is only the most recent in a long line of similar events,) I found myself being very depressed by it all.

Reevaluating my interactions on X I came to the realization that the vast majority of people on the site are… well, terrible people.

I partially remembered a line from Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy where Marvin the robot had just witnessed another robot destroy itself in a fit of anger and said, something like, “What a depressingly stupid robot.”

That sentiment is what I felt this morning. These people couldn’t just go, “Oh, that’s a lovely respectful conversation. Wow, those photos are really beautiful.” Instead, they had to drag it through absolute shit.

I have a very hard time seeing the good in people. Jerry would often remind me that not all people in the world are shitheads. Since he’s been gone, I’m having a harder time remembering there are some good people.

Between the network news, X, LinkedIn, and just dealing with people in the grocery store it’s easy to have the “shitty people” belief reenforced.

It’s not just this one instance. However, this one seems to have broken the camels back.

Going through the list of things I can’t stand hearing about anymore, I’ve concluded that too much interaction with the world is very depressing.

I don’t care about Palestine, or Trans rights, the LGBT community, or the Democrats, politics, Republicans, Trump, the failure that is Congress, our broken Judiciary, the price of eggs, people demanding that Trump voters regret their vote, who’s talking about running for President in 2028, the welfare state, DOGE, government employees being laid off, taxes, the next iPhone, Ukraine, or much of anything else.

I realized, I miss looking up at the stars, (which I can’t see anymore because everyone around me is afraid of the dark). I miss simplicity, and beauty. Both of which are easily seen and appreciated, if you turn off the constant bullshit.

That’s what I’m going to do. Turn off the constant bullshit. I want peace & quiet.

I want a little job that brings in enough money but not 100K. I want to be off mailing lists and urgent notifications, and to turn off the firehose of “Information”.

To that end, I’m closing accounts. I’m removing myself from mailing lists and locking down the flow of senseless conflict and controversy. This mechanized abomination we call “modern life” has made me unhappy.

I’m not angry about it, (although It’s going to be a while before I’m not assuming people are all shitty).

I’m looking at this as a mistake and fortunately it’s one I can correct.

I’m trying a hiatus. I’ll let you know how it goes… or not.

Whew! Democrats still big mad & I’m still working through tax stuff.

Since I’m still working through tax stuff I have very little pity for the pissed off Democrats.

Their little stunt Tuesday night may have backfired horribly.

Even CNN & NBC reporters weren’t particularly kind. But more interesting is some of the “Man on the Street” interviews have folks claiming they’re Democrats and vowing never to vote Democrat again.

I take that with a grain of salt because people on the street can claim to be anything they wish. Nonetheless it’s interesting to think about the ramifications.

Did the leadership of the Democratic Party just put a large, or perhaps, final nail in the party’s coffin? Time will tell.

They did a fine job of alienating a lot of folks with their refusal to acknowledge even good things that universally everyone should have been able to get behind.

President Trump said it flat out, when he pointed at them saying something like; There is nothing I could do or say that would make these people smile or be happy. That’s sad…

Indeed it is sad because these are the people who for the past four years were talking about unity, democracy, and truth.

What they meant of course was compliance and acceptance of their “Divine Rule”. Then they negated democracy by installing Kamala after the people had already chosen Biden for a second term, then we find out they lied for years about Biden’s decline.

I find myself asking, what did they expect when all those chickens came home to roost? Did they think the American people would simply ignore, or forget these issues?

President Trump could have pounded them a lot harder than he did. I laughed at some of the swipes he took because they were funny. I think his approach of stating the simple truth was far more effective.

My favorite was his comment about the border. “Biden said we needed new laws to address the border, turns out all we needed was a new President.” That one cracked me up!

My personal takeaway of the subtext President Trump delivered was, “I can’t please you no matter what, so I’m not even going to try.”

Which means he’s going to move on without bothering to consult the Democrats. They’ve become irrelevant and are nothing more than a nuisance when it comes to confirmation hearings or passing bills into law.

Honestly, that worries me. There should be a healthy balance between the two parties and they should be able to discuss subjects from two different perspectives.

That the Democrats have beclowned themselves as they have, may not be a good thing in the long run. In the short term some good might come of it.

Good, as in term limits for Congress, laws against congressional stock trading, and much closer oversight into campaign financing.

I’d like to see some oversight into just how it’s possible so many congressmen get into congress with net worths of a few hundred thousand dollars and come out of congress with millions in 2 or 6 years. Congressional salaries are high but not that high.

I’m not saying there is any wrongdoing, but you have to admit, it looks odd.

Maxine Waters was on X claiming that Donald Trump and Elon Musk stole the election by manipulating the voting count. She claims that somehow Musk and his “Hackers” put Trump in office. That really cracked me up because when Biden was elected she was all in stating anyone who disputed the election results was deluded and a conspiracy nut.

Ilhan Omar and the rest of “The Squad” may have screwed the pooch too, with what I and many Americans perceive as, at best divided loyalties, and at worst loyalties to other countries.

A bill has been introduced to impose similar birthplace requirements the President must meet, on Congress.

This is something I’m sure that a lot of Americans will see as a good thing. I’m not so sure. While I hate that Omar is always badmouthing America, and may have cheated the immigration system. I’m not sure that excluding naturalized citizens from congress is a good thing. I don’t think it’s fair to punish everyone over someone like Omar.

On the plus side, doing so now may stave off what we’ve seen happening in Europe where large numbers of people of specific religious or national origins are welcomed, then move into politics enshrining their customs or beliefs into law and punishing those who disagree, or even ask questions.

See England for examples.

The down side is that welcomed, legal, immigrant groups may end up waiting a generation before they’re fully represented in Congress. At this point, that may be a non-issue, I’m not sure.

I saw one talking head suggesting this is xenophobic. I think that’s a bullshit argument. It’s not xenophobia, I think it’s more a kind of protectionism.

As an aside, If you want to talk about xenophobia let’s look at the members of Congress saying that Elon Musk should go back to South Africa even though he’s been a naturalized citizen for over 20 years.

Ideally, I think you want people in Congress to have deep ties to the country and their constituents. I’m not sure how to best meet these needs and exclude people like Omar, Talib, & AOC, who clearly seem to hate our nation, our people, and our history.

There’s another idea I’ve seen floated on social media suggesting that Congressional candidates should have to take, and pass, the same exam regarding The Constitution and rights that naturalized citizens take as part of their citizenship application, before their candidacy is valid.

That might be a good idea. Maybe adding cognitive testing should be part of the candidacy process for Congress and the Presidency as well.

It’s really interesting to note that 29 Congresspersons were born outside the United States. Of those, 25 are Democrats. That seems to be a rather skewed percentage.

There is a part of me that thinks Voter ID and paper ballots might change the balance. Incidentally, I believe that a national law requiring ID and paper ballots should be a top priority of the Trump administration and Congress.

That would go a long way toward putting an end to allegations of voter fraud. It would probably limit any voter fraud to an acceptable percentage of .001 percent. It would sure make me more willing to accept election results.

I’d like to see us go back to voting on one day. It might be a good thing to make Election Day a national holiday as some have suggested.

I’d even like to see mail-in ballots limited, and certainly not automatically sent as they are in California and some other states.

I think we should have to request a mail in ballot prior to each election. In other words, the citizens would have to be responsible enough to plan ahead.

Really, don’t we want engaged voters? You know, voters who actually pay attention and exercise their right to vote with purpose, instead of getting the mail and guessing about candidates in the voting booth?

The primary opposition to these sorts of things are always Democrats. They make excuses like not everyone has ID, or poor folks can’t afford ID, or deployed military folks would be excluded from voting.

All of which could be easily addressed. Give everyone free basic state ID that has citizenship clearly marked, as the Real-ID act calls for. Make exceptions for deployed military members, although I’d bet you could have voting in person and tabulation at every single military base. I’d go so far as to believe the military results could be certified and reported by midnight.

Congress001_original 1.I’m very in favor of simple common sense changes being made that should make things better for everyone.

This is all stuff that’s been running through my mind while I’ve been searching for various documents with numbers on them to plug into various tax forms.

I’d probably be a lot less pissed off filing my taxes, if I had faith that our government wasn’t a hot mess of compromised officials.

Oh well, back to the document search.

Have a good day.

FUCKING BIDEN!

The the words of David Lo-Pan from “Big Trouble in Little China”

“NOW this shit really pisses me off!”

President (I shit myself again,) Biden a.k.a. sniffer in chief, apparently issued preemptive pardons for the J6 Committee, General “Treason is my second job” Miley and that scum bag rabid little weasel Anthony Fauci!

FUCK!!!!!

The article is here

I’d hoped that finally after 40 years I’d get to watch Fauci get what’s coming to him. As I’ve written elsewhere in these pages that little fuck is responsible for pain and suffering clearly enumerated by all the panels of the AIDS quilt. Then that little weasel fucked us all again with COVID and what is starting to look like illegal gain of function research.

Biden issues pardons 640x480.Biden is too dementia ridden to stand trial, but not too demential ridden to issue pardons for crimes that have not been proven to have occurred?

President poopy pants, just gave a bunch of mother fuckers a get out of jail free card for shit they’ve not been tried for. The Biden administration has got to be the most corrupt illegal administration in the history of this country.

Good riddance to bad rubbish!

This really may spell doom for the Democratic Party I wouldn’t shed a tear about that either. The party of the KKK and unbelievable corruption needs to be dispatched.

I hope that come midterms every American remembers that preemptive pardons are essentially admissions of guilt and votes accordingly.

They shoot looters don’t they?

Los angeles fire.LA officials seem shocked and dismayed that looting is happening in evacuation zones.

Really? These folks allowed essentially lawlessness for the past, what… 6-8 years, now they’re shocked that it’s become “Normal”?

Listening to the LA Officials, I’m angry that they’re not addressing making policy & procedural changes to make sure something like this never happens again.

Chief Luna is the only one who seems to be making sense. He’s arresting looters.

Personally, I think looters should just be shot. Save everyone the time and trouble of trials and all that crap. Plus it provides a great object lesson about leaving other people’s shit alone.

On the news this morning KTLA interviewed a  lady who said she witnessed amidst her evacuating her family, folks were driving up in cars, then running up to neighbors doors. She thought they were helping people evacuate. Turns out it was looters taking advantage of the chaos to steal shit.

Animals!

There’s not enough punishment for that kind of behavior.

I suppose the looters could be staked out on the lawns of the homes they were looting. You know, let the fire gods decide their guilt or innocence.

That’s why there are some people who will not evacuate their homes when asked to do so. They’re afraid that they’ll come home to the place being ransacked and robbed with zero leads or hope of getting their stuff back.

That puts firefighters and police in danger protecting people who remain in harms way.

I guess that’s why I’m kind of a zero tolerance policy guy on the matter of looting.

Even here, when the whole town was evacuated, there were looters who got arrested. This town is maybe 4000 people. Most of whom are middle class, (or were before Biden took office,) we don’t have tons of nice stuff. Yet we had looters trying to steal what we did have.

I suppose I get really angry about looting because it’s like the looters are kicking people when they’re down. It’s not fair, and cruel when you think about it.
