I don’t know what’s wrong with me…

Images

I can’t keep a thought in my head. I’ve created (and deleted) three blog posts today. Don’t even ask about writing anything on the new book.

For some reason over the past two days I haven’t been able to just think.

I have no idea what’s wrong with me.

I swear its ADD on steroids!

So until I have something to say, or see my doctor for the appropriate drugs I suspect that my blog posts will be intermittent or completely disjunct.

I’m thinking its time for me to start watching my Loony Tunes DVDs. Maybe Bugs will clear my brain.

Future weapon of choice – I give you… The Rock

Feb07 s

With our nuclear weapons aging, and the issues surrounding their use such as radiation, EMP and fallout for years I think we’ve reached the point where its time for our next advancement in weapon systems.

I propose the ROCK.

No… not your nambie pambie little rocks, I’m talking mile wide asteroids.

I’m absolutely sure that I’m not the only person to think of this. I may be one of the first to actually SAY it out loud.

Rocks have several advantages.

They’re environmentally clean.

You can drop a 20 million ton rock on, say, Iraq or Afghanistan. Done right you get rid of an entire army and not have to worry about radiation, or fallout.

Once the ground cools, you might even be able to mine iron depending on the type of asteroid you used.

Since the single most important issue, ( according to Obama) we  face today is climate change, the dust would have a planet wide cooling effect. Wow, a three for one.

Don’t dismiss the idea too quickly…

NASA already is planning to capture and change asteroids orbits. Their purpose is to put the asteroids in stable lunar orbit so that they can be studied.

It is pretty obvious that simple alterations in the capture technology could also drop a multi-ton rock on a specific earthly target. The best weapon platform would be something that accelerated the rock to a fraction of the speed of light.

The faster the rock, the smaller it could be, yet have the same destructive force. That’s Einstein E=mc2 Its a deceptively simple formula but it’s really freakin cool.

It’s not even necessary to accelerate a rock to crazy speeds, You’d just have to maneuver a big assed rock into position then at the right time shove it out of orbit towards Earth.

Don’t get me wrong it would take some serious tech and the computations would be outrageous, to hit a specific target but the NSA computers are more than up to the task.

We might miss the first or second try… OOOOPS Sorry… What’s in the line of fire? Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria?

We’d have to be careful to miss Israel, and possibly Egypt. But Libya is a big open space. I guess we’d have to narrow the targeting accuracy down to a swath of 1500 miles before we actually tried it.

Don’t get me wrong, a miss would be a bad thing. I don’t think It wouldn’t be any worse than allowing the Islamofascist vermin to continue multiplying. Eventually we’d get the targeting right.

By that time, perhaps the Islamofascists would have come to the conclusion that putting their shit in order is preferable to extinction.

UnknownI’d rather see these fucked up countries cratered wastelands, than continue to wonder when these fuckers were going to bomb a train, mall, building, airport, or whatever.

All they seem to understand or respect is force… I say show ‘em force that they can’t conceive of.

We have the technology.

Granted it’s rudimentary and primitive but it could work. Maybe its time to prove that we could take the high ground and hold it.

Once we proved we could do it I’ll bet people would be more inclined to settle their differences with diplomacy.

Well for all the hype – That was a bust!

After making all the noise about turning off our power for 8 hours, the electric company didn’t do it.

However, because they were supposed to kill the power, we sat up here with our technology off anyway.

Until about noon, then I said, “screw it” and brought the minimum systems back online. By 4PM I brought the rest of the systems back online.

They went to the expense of hanging door cards throughout the neighborhood, and then called us the night before, you’d think they were serious about it.

I guess NOT!

This begs the question; are they going to arbitrarily turn off the power on Monday, or Tuesday and call it all the same?

I find myself looking at WiFi Router hotness.  As much as I like the Apple Time Capsule, it’s five years old. I’m wondering if its time to buy an updated machine and see if I can get better range. This would also allow me the flexibility to turn off the backup drives and still have internet access in situations where the power gets a little dicy.

$200 bucks for a new powerful WiFi router? Or $400 for a new Time Capsule, with the same WiFi technology and 3TB of storage? Decisions, decisions.

Maybe I’ll buy a WiFi only router and test it out for fourteen days. If its good, I’ll keep it if Its bad I’ll return it and wait for the next generation Time Capsule.

Perhaps, I’ll just leave well enough alone, and not spend any money.

You know I was thinking about politics…

Unknown

Now wait, it’s ok.

I was wondering why a happy go lucky guy like me who’d been able for decades to ignore politics, taxes, and all the foolishness, of the government suddenly got interested.

It’s counterintuitive as hell.

Then I started thinking back, remembering my life before my interest in politics.

I was busy, I had lots of work, the companies where I was working were competitive and only cared if you could do the job, not the effete university from which you’d purchased your diploma.

For that matter diplomas actually held weight. A degreed individual was actually someone that you could go to for answers to real problems. Instead of the narrow-minded stovepiped “specialists” we have today.

Time spun on, and I was still working, although the jobs were getting less plentiful. I didn’t often notice the politics and most of what I did notice was scandal or unbelievable stupidity. But politics was infiltrating my life year after year.

Five years became ten, ten became twenty, and well… you get the picture.

Flash forward many years to now, and I realized that politics has simply become all encompassing and intrusive. Its everywhere and there is no escape.

It’s not just politics it’s highly polarized politics charged with divisiveness and fueled by a willingness to ignore anyone else’s opinion regardless of the validity of a dissenting opinion.

And that’s whats drawn my attention, its this complete dismissiveness of the other guy that pisses me off.

So now I find I can’t look away even if I want to.  Its sort of like looking at an accident in progress, you want to look away but you just can’t bring yourself to close your eyes until after you see the horror.  That’s our political system these days a disaster in progress.

Kind of a sad commentary when you think about it.

Just got some new Porn

Ok, You’re right, it’s not Porn…  But the collection has a lot of the politically incorrect stuff that I spent my Saturday mornings watching, and laughing at.

This collection looks like it’s got a lot of the banned WWII propaganda. Much of this hasn’t been seen on TV for years because of it’s offensive characterizations of the countries that were our enemies at the time.

I think this stuff is fascinating and funny!

My chores are done for the day, so I think the DVD player is about to get a workout!

Maybe time for some beer and popcorn too.
