Future weapon of choice – I give you… The Rock

Feb07 s

With our nuclear weapons aging, and the issues surrounding their use such as radiation, EMP and fallout for years I think we’ve reached the point where its time for our next advancement in weapon systems.

I propose the ROCK.

No… not your nambie pambie little rocks, I’m talking mile wide asteroids.

I’m absolutely sure that I’m not the only person to think of this. I may be one of the first to actually SAY it out loud.

Rocks have several advantages.

They’re environmentally clean.

You can drop a 20 million ton rock on, say, Iraq or Afghanistan. Done right you get rid of an entire army and not have to worry about radiation, or fallout.

Once the ground cools, you might even be able to mine iron depending on the type of asteroid you used.

Since the single most important issue, ( according to Obama) we  face today is climate change, the dust would have a planet wide cooling effect. Wow, a three for one.

Don’t dismiss the idea too quickly…

NASA already is planning to capture and change asteroids orbits. Their purpose is to put the asteroids in stable lunar orbit so that they can be studied.

It is pretty obvious that simple alterations in the capture technology could also drop a multi-ton rock on a specific earthly target. The best weapon platform would be something that accelerated the rock to a fraction of the speed of light.

The faster the rock, the smaller it could be, yet have the same destructive force. That’s Einstein E=mc2 Its a deceptively simple formula but it’s really freakin cool.

It’s not even necessary to accelerate a rock to crazy speeds, You’d just have to maneuver a big assed rock into position then at the right time shove it out of orbit towards Earth.

Don’t get me wrong it would take some serious tech and the computations would be outrageous, to hit a specific target but the NSA computers are more than up to the task.

We might miss the first or second try… OOOOPS Sorry… What’s in the line of fire? Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria?

We’d have to be careful to miss Israel, and possibly Egypt. But Libya is a big open space. I guess we’d have to narrow the targeting accuracy down to a swath of 1500 miles before we actually tried it.

Don’t get me wrong, a miss would be a bad thing. I don’t think It wouldn’t be any worse than allowing the Islamofascist vermin to continue multiplying. Eventually we’d get the targeting right.

By that time, perhaps the Islamofascists would have come to the conclusion that putting their shit in order is preferable to extinction.

UnknownI’d rather see these fucked up countries cratered wastelands, than continue to wonder when these fuckers were going to bomb a train, mall, building, airport, or whatever.

All they seem to understand or respect is force… I say show ‘em force that they can’t conceive of.

We have the technology.

Granted it’s rudimentary and primitive but it could work. Maybe its time to prove that we could take the high ground and hold it.

Once we proved we could do it I’ll bet people would be more inclined to settle their differences with diplomacy.

Holy Shit! I can’t believe I saw this.

President Obama threw the Iraqi government under the bus today.

I have NO love of Iraq but I can’t help think, since they are supposed to be more or less our allies that we’re supposed to help them when they ask for our help.

Obama just said, “You’re on your own.”

I just noticed a report of 200 US government civilian contractors that are trapped and holding an airbase with weapons and ammunition left behind by fleeing Iraqi security and military personnel. These folks have been holding their position since Wednesday and were in the process of evacuating.

Did the President just tell them “You’re Fucked”?

Lets see 200 Americans at a 5 to one ratio of Gitmo prisoners… HEY! Obama will be able to keep at least ONE of his promises.  To get back the contractors, he’ll be able to close Gitmo. Surely that will be something all the Obama ass kissers will be crowing about.

I can see Nancy Pelosi telling all of America what a successful, honest and wonderful President Obama is.

The president is doing more to cause the world, and our allies to mistrust us than anyone I can ever remember.

We need to start leading again.

Does anyone wonder why we don’t trust the president?

There was an article this morning in Brietbart pointing out that the President, after taking the credit for the Bergdahl release and all the negotiations is saying it was Chuck Hagel’s call.

20140610-113108-41468240.jpgReally?

So now that it’s obvious the American people are PISSED that you freed five people that have VOWED, and have really good reason to exact revenge on the United States… NOW you’re obviously trying to blame someone else?

Let’s not forget Mr President that you claimed LAST week that you were standing behind YOUR decision to make this deal with the Taliban.

DAMN!!

What kind of person do we have in the White House?

I have no doubt that our allies and even those countries who only had a grudging respect for the United States all all doing major “facepalms” and trying to remove any photos from the web of President Obama and their leaders.

Vladimir Putin may be a bastard with desires to rebuilt the former Soviet Union, but at least that guy is fairly consistent.

I guess that President Obama is consistent too.

The President consistently misreads situations. He accepts responsibility only until he figures out that he’s going to have his feet held to the fire, then shifts the blame to his underlings. And finally, when things really go sideways he stomps his foot and describes just how angry he is about V, W, X, Y, & Z

This isn’t CHANGE.

We need change. Much as I am loathe to consider it, perhaps its time to start talking about impeachment and prosecution of entire the Obama Administration for criminal wrongdoing.

Stompy Foot Can’t catch a break

I’ve been watching with some amusement the blowback from the deal to release Sgt. Bergdahl.

While the jury isn’t in yet on if Bergdahl is a deserter, (It seems likely that he is, based on various published reports over the last few days) I can’t believe that ol’ Stompy engaged in a trade in the first place.

I think it sets a bad precedent that the exchange rate is now established at 5 Taliban to one American. All that has to happen now is for a tour bus of Americans in Egypt to be hijacked and 200 Gitmo detainees are suddenly free.

Worse yet as was observed in an article this weekend at Real Clear Politics The President no longer enjoys the absolute tightlipped loyalty and respect from his military.  In times past, the President as Commander in Chief of the Armed forces enjoyed silence in the ranks.  Obama has managed to break even that long tradition and now has commanders speaking out about his policies.

It’s sad that President DIVIDER has alienated the troops as well as the citizens.

On the plus side, I suspect that if he were to give an illegal order to the troops today, that there’d be no infighting or discussion about refusing to comply. I’d bet the military would simply say “No”.

The blowback over Bergdahl will intensify to be sure. However I doubt that it will result in the impeachment of the President.  As I’ve commented before if Obama is impeached the country would rapidly devolve into a racially charged civil war of words if not deeds.

This too is part of the Obama legacy.

I think he’s going to be safe and will finish out his term in office.

I’d love to see him given what the Japanese call a “Window Seat”. Essentially this is what happens to high ranking failures in Japanese companies who do not have the good graces to resign. They’re given a beautiful office with no responsibilities or power what so ever. He’d just be trotted out for official photos but the real power would be outside what is now thought of as a horribly corrupt administration.

The really sad thing is that Stompy could have done things so much differently.

Health Insurance is consuming my life.

UnknownI know that many posts lately have been about the failure of Anthem due to the requirements of Obamacare.

I personally think that Obamacare is an utter failure that has imposed yet another layer of un-necessary  bureaucracy on insurers, doctors, hospitals, and the people in general. I hate bureaucracy and running round & round a maze of petty functionaries to get what I’ve paid for.

I’ve always been sensitive to insurance bullshit. I’ve always thought that insurance was the biggest con game on the planet.

UnknownReally? you want me to pay for your service which does nothing for me in my day to day life. The cost of your service will go up every year due to the actions of other people over whom neither of us have any control. The amount that the cost will go up is due to arcane mathematics worked out by some gnome in a basement with a HP-12C and that’s also not under my control.

This is for my own good?

I’d often wondered if I’d have been just as well off handing protection money to the Mafia.

Then I had a major event in my life where I was thankful I had insurance.

I was fortunate beyond words in that the insurance company I’d been dealing with simply PAID. they asked few questions, they just did what they were contracted to do and put the money in my hand.

images-4I’d been fortunate too in that though my work I’d managed to find an insurance company that just PAID. I went to my doctor, I went to a specialist if needed and I didn’t abuse the situation. Like most men, I fucking hate to go to the doctor in the first place.  ALL I had to do was hand the office bitch my insurance card and that was the end of it.

PPOs worked and were good.  I always went to the doctor of my choice and that was the end of it. The shit got paid for!  Now in addition to HMO, PPO, EPO, and god knows what else there are flavors of each plan.

images-2Doctors, are opting out of caring for patients based on the “Flavor” of plan within the broad designations that the patient has. But in general there’s no way for the patient to know if the flavor they have, is in fact a flavor the doctor likes.

Nerri.jpgENTER BUREAUCRACY!

All health care plans are supposed to be Obamacare compliant, that doesn’t make all plans “Obamacare”.

What it does is create confusion. I as a consumer don’t give a flying fuck about the underpinnings and nuances of interaction between the doctors and the insurance company. They EACH have a job to do and I expect them to perform their task. Once again I find myself on the phone calling the representative “Servicer”

I’m paying $500 a month for an insurance plan that is all but completely useless because there is no clear way for me as a consumer to know which doctor will take what I have, or for how long.

imagesThe “Servicer” tries to explain that the insurance isn’t useless, but then can’t find a provider within a 100 miles that takes my ‘flavor’ of insurance. That’s even after he added back in all the Doctors for whom English was NOT their primary language.  He did tell me that perhaps I should learn Spanish. I retorted why not Farsi, or Hindi? Then I told him if I was going to learn any language, it would be German, Swedish, Dutch, or Norse.

I’m shopping for other insurance companies but all plans are essentially the same thanks to Obamacare. Technically, there’s no real choice. They all refer to a metallic code, Bronze, Silver, Gold etc.

images-1BEWARE! If you choose one of these insurance levels by metallic code, you’ve essentially consented to an Obamacare plan even if that’s not what you intended.

The insurance providers start throwing around levels of protection with associated deductibles and lumping them into a metal. So you, the consumer say, “Yeah the Silver level sounds about right,” and suddenly your insurance plan is fucking Obamacare.

I compared my old insurance card to the “new” insurance card. Both say PPO but the shitty card says “Pathway PPO” which is somehow different from just the normal PPO that I’ve had for years.

screen-shot-2014-04-20-at-5-42-09-pmThey bait & switched me and I didn’t realize it until I tried to obtain a more specialized service from one of the Jeff Spicolis of the medical world.

So now the problem is can I fix it? The preliminary reports say NO!

So where does that leave me? Well thank god my GP can take care of the dermatology things.

Well, he can for as long as he takes my “Flavor” of PPO. If he decides he doesn’t like my PPO I’m well and truly screwed.
