What a beautiful day Tuesday was.

I slept very soundly Monday night. I woke up feeling pretty happy. I was looking for mean tweets over my morning coffee, but didn’t find any.

I guess it’s going to take a few days before those become a regular thing again.

I don’t know how to describe it, I felt a sense of relief. As I’ve said, Trump is no angel, he’s certainly not the second coming.

But he’s not Biden!! He’s not Harris!

He is a mostly successful businessman who understands cash in / cash out and making sure that you get something for the investment you make.

TRUMPSigning EO.The Paris Climate accords for example skew charges and fees toward the wealthier western countries taxpayers, and allow emerging countries to pay less, and pollute more, when they could be building their infrastructures from the ground up to be cleaner.

It makes no sense for China and India to build industries that they’re just going to have to retrofit in 20 years & no doubt by then, the Western Nations will have to pick up the tab for the retrofit too.

It’s a bad investment. Not that being responsible and minimizing pollution is a bad investment, but being on the hook to pay disproportionate carbon taxes does not serve the US Tax Payer.

The United States is already one of the least polluting nations on the planet. Yes, we could make a case that planetary ecology concerns us all. That’s a true statement, however pumping trillions of dollars into foreign governments hasn’t proven to have the desired effect, pretty much ever.

There has to be another way. Perhaps making our cleaner technologies available to 3rd world nations at a discount, in exchange for raw materials?

I was really happy to see us pull out of the World Health Organization. Back at the beginning of COVID it was blatantly obvious that the WHO was compromised and only a puppet of China.

More recently the WHO has made statements that concerned me and made demands that all nations submit to their mandates regarding the next pandemic. Their guidance, obfuscation, and mandates, including statements about not restricting travel to and from China arguably made the COVID pandemic worse.

Why quarantine people in their homes, but not quarantine travel from the country of a disease’s origin due to fear of being called racist? That’s not medicine, that’s politics.

The best part of the day was those 51 intelligence officers who certified that Hunter’s laptop was a fake,  and Miley having their security clearances pulled.

I blew water out my nose when that came on the TV.

I can hardly wait to see what he does today & tomorrow.

This was weird…

I watched the actual swearing in of Trump yesterday.

I loved the Marines walking JD Vances children in. I’ve always been a sucker for Dress Blues.

What was weird is this. I got emotional about it. I’m quick to anger to be sure. But not quick to tears.

While watching the inauguration I had this weird juxtaposition of time. Trump should have been The President in 2020. For just a moment, I thought I was back in 2020 waking from a nightmare. I expected Jerry to be alive and that I’d tell him of this crazy assed dream. Then we’d laugh at my silliness and all would be well.

But Jerry is still dead. I’m still alone. Things are still much more expensive than they were, injustices still happened, and two tier justice is still the norm. The “Nightmare” was real.

I cried.

Perhaps from relief that Biden wouldn’t be fucking things up worse. Perhaps because It wasn’t a dream and that hit like a ton of bricks. Perhaps it was just the last of my grief leaving, and me looking forward to opportunities the new administration may provide.

I lay a lot of my sadness, angst, and loss at the Biden administrations feet.

Jerry’s life might have been prolonged if he hadn’t had to navigate COVID protocols and repeated cancellations or rescheduling of appointments with his cardiologist.

Eventually, he stopped trying because every appointment was canceled due to someone testing positive for COVID in that office. Which meant they’d shut the place down for a week or two.

Jerry wasn’t alone, a lot of people were denied care for the same reasons. He gave up on his doctor in October of 2022 and was trying to find a new cardiologist but ran into the same BS when scheduling appointments.

Biden and his shitty administration aren’t directly responsible or that.

They are directly responsible for increasing the stress & fear, and censoring information about COVID that might have brought the pandemic panic to a close sooner.

None of them will ever be held to account.

I can only hope that things get better for this country as fast as they went into the shitter with Biden’s executive orders in the first 100 days.

Somehow, I doubt it.

It takes a lot more energy to create that to destroy.

On the plus side, the stock market was hopping yesterday. That’s maybe a positive sign.

FUCKING BIDEN!

The the words of David Lo-Pan from “Big Trouble in Little China”

“NOW this shit really pisses me off!”

President (I shit myself again,) Biden a.k.a. sniffer in chief, apparently issued preemptive pardons for the J6 Committee, General “Treason is my second job” Miley and that scum bag rabid little weasel Anthony Fauci!

FUCK!!!!!

The article is here

I’d hoped that finally after 40 years I’d get to watch Fauci get what’s coming to him. As I’ve written elsewhere in these pages that little fuck is responsible for pain and suffering clearly enumerated by all the panels of the AIDS quilt. Then that little weasel fucked us all again with COVID and what is starting to look like illegal gain of function research.

Biden issues pardons 640x480.Biden is too dementia ridden to stand trial, but not too demential ridden to issue pardons for crimes that have not been proven to have occurred?

President poopy pants, just gave a bunch of mother fuckers a get out of jail free card for shit they’ve not been tried for. The Biden administration has got to be the most corrupt illegal administration in the history of this country.

Good riddance to bad rubbish!

This really may spell doom for the Democratic Party I wouldn’t shed a tear about that either. The party of the KKK and unbelievable corruption needs to be dispatched.

I hope that come midterms every American remembers that preemptive pardons are essentially admissions of guilt and votes accordingly.

Today is the day!

Just a couple more hours, and as of Noon Eastern time the Biden era will end. The mess the Biden Administration leaves behind will take years to clean up.

I’m not sure if I’ll watch the inauguration. I might, just to hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the leftist fucks. They’re all sure that their world will end, and Hell will be unleashed upon the Earth.

I’d say it’s unlikely but realistically there is a nonzero chance of that happening, however on any given day there is a nonzero chance of an apocalypse. So whatever.

I’m looking forward to the leftist pukes crawling back into their holes, and taking all their insane bullshit with them. They had their shot, and damn near reduced our country to that CHAZ obscenity they tried in Seattle.

Trump inaugural protest 1.I understand they were protesting Trump’s inauguration from the site of CHAZ this weekend. There’s an agreeable symmetry to that. Hopefully it’s the last we’ll see of blue haired, pussy hat wearing, shrill leftist white women, screaming in the streets en mass. They are truly some of the most tiresome people.

If we’re lucky Trump will cancel the latest billions of dollars earmarked for Ukraine and reallocate that money to building insane asylums so we can enjoy seeing crazy people captured with nets and hauled away.

I don’t know about the rest of the country, but I am sick to death of them.

I am not expecting a lot out of Trump. I’m just looking for a little less of the absolutely stupid shit we’ve seen over the past four years. I don’t know how much of the toothpaste we can shove back in the tube.

Okay, I’ll grant Biden a little grace with the COVID stuff at the beginning of his term.

But when he kept doubling down on it, while his administration was violating the first amendment, censoring us on social media, and destroying careers of reputable physicians and researchers?

That is when I decided that Biden and his administration were at least as bad as the left claimed Trumps administration was. It’s also the time that I fully understood the concept of accusing your enemies of what you are actually doing. The Democrats somehow have become masters of that tactic.

After Biden was installed, we’d swapped the fantasy of an administration out of control for the actuality of an administration out of control, and guess what? We were just as fucked!

Except that the Trump administration wasn’t completely evil. Oh to be sure it had some very evil people in it that Trump either didn’t see or who he couldn’t get rid of.

This time around, I think Trump will be much quicker to fire anybody who engages in that two faced lying shit we saw the last time around.

I don’t know if that will be better or worse, it might simply fuel chaos. On the other hand it might clearly and resoundingly communicate to everyone that Trump isn’t going to take any more shit!

Why should he? He’s been through the wringer with everything but the kitchen sink thrown at him and hey, he’s still standing. I’m hoping that strength of will, gives our enemies pause and our people and allies hope.

I’m curious to see which of his campaign promises he keeps. I’m also really looking forward to DOGE fumigating the federal government and destroying all the cockroaches within.

Honestly, it would be nice to feel like the federal government wasn’t a corrupt 3rd world mess for at least a little while in my life.

Who knows? I might even engage in a little day drinking while I watch the leftists melt down.

Although drinking at 9am local time might be excessive. I’m not giddy, like the left was when they put Biden in office. But I might crack a smile or two.

What remains to be seen is, did the left shoot their wad so to speak? They had control of everything and pissed so much of the country off, so very deeply that it may be years before they get another chance at having power. Possibly decades.

I hope it’s the latter. I’m too cynical to belief the Democrat party will die. I’ll be content with them being very sickly for 50 years or so.

The saddest part of all of this is that if Trump were to come in and do every thing the leftists demanded, Trans EVERYBODY!!! Force COVID / AVIAN Flu vaccines, start immediate censorship of anything negative (from the lefts) point of view, make reparations to be paid by every white man to every black person they encounter on the street. Import the entirety of South America, and the rest of the world, abandon Israel and send our military to fight for Palestine, impose carbon taxes, ban internal combustion engines on day one, and whatever other harebrained schemes the left think is a good idea. Then finally go full communist by removing our Constitutional Republic and enshrining “Democracy” as the singular law of the land. (There’s a difference between the two, the latter isn’t pretty when it gets out of hand.)

Absolutely nothing he did, no matter how far left would ever be enough.

That’s how you know it’s not about the policies, it’s about the man.

Here’s a little secret. When someone is hated that much, they’re free. They don’t care about pleasing every idiotic fringe group. They’re beyond the desire to be liked, their purpose is to do what they think is best, popular opinion be damned.

That’s where we are folks. The left and the Democrats aren’t going to be at all happy.

We Left, We Came Back, Maybe it’s time to leave again.

X twitter logo.Oh Twitter! X! Or whatever you call yourself these days.

I think you’re about to blow it. Big time!

Not that you care what I think, or that I particularly care what you think at this point.

I was working toward dipping my toe into the X monetization scheme. I was getting interest and impressions. I was even getting reposted if you can believe it.

Literally the day after I’d decided to pay for a blue checkmark and become a verified member X moved the bar for monetization, and suddenly 1/3 of my total followers disappeared.

After waiting 4 days for all of the “Premium” features to be enabled, the newly available engagement reports provided no insight into the missing followers. They simply didn’t exist and never had existed. Or so the reporting mechanism stated.

Aside from X moving the bar for monetization. Suddenly users needed to have 500 verified followers minimum, before they were eligible to begin the monetization process for their account.

Verified meant that X was catering toward subscribers. That was kind of a bummer for those of us just starting out. But okay, I’d work to get verified subscriptions. The real problem was the other requirements that technically were out of my control.

Requirements like impressions, interactions, and reach… All of which were in X’s control. More specifically, in the control of the algorithm.

Then right around the end of November something changed fundamentally.

I don’t know what it was, it was subtle. A small change to the tenor of the platform. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it but the effects were wide ranging.

First, X wasn’t that interesting anymore. Posts from people (verified or not) that I’d been enjoying were suddenly far fewer in number. Those posts that I was seeing were often bereft of the individual personality that previously had shown through from these individuals.

I chalked the change in tenor up to post election malaise, and the busy holiday season.

I reached out to X customer support and never heard back. A couple weeks later I reached out to X support again regarding another matter. It took them a month to respond. And their response was generic at best and not what I was asking about.

Since I was now a premium X member, I have been able to play around with grok, (grok is the X ai.) While the customer service people were pretty useless, Grok was able to answer my question about the X platform.

The answer made sense. I suggested that Grok inform its superiors that putting the information I’d asked about in a FAQ list on the X website might be a good idea. Grok agreed but then it’s an AI and I’m not sure that it will do what it said anymore than a human would.

I must say that Grok is a much better and more efficient customer service experience. Although technically that is not Grok’s job.

In the past week or so there have been rumblings about X soon making changes to the algorithm in an effort to spare the users “unregretted” seconds.

I asked Grok for an explanation:

Grok, please define “unregretted seconds”

Answer:

“Unregretted seconds” is a term often used in the context of user experience (UX) design and product management. It refers to the moments or periods during which users interact with a product or service in a way that they find enjoyable, useful, or satisfying—essentially, time spent without regret.

Here’s a breakdown of the concept:

Positive Experience: These seconds are when users feel their time is well-spent. They might be learning something new, accomplishing a task efficiently, or simply enjoying the interaction.

Engagement Metrics: In business and product development, “unregretted seconds” can be seen as a qualitative measure of user engagement. It’s about the quality rather than just the quantity of time spent with a product.

Contrast with Regretted Time: This term implicitly contrasts with time spent in frustration, confusion, or doing something that feels like a waste of time. For example, struggling with a poorly designed interface or waiting through unnecessary steps would be “regretted seconds.”

Design and Improvement: Understanding and maximizing unregretted seconds can guide designers and developers to refine their products, focusing on enhancing user satisfaction and reducing friction points.

Quantifying Quality Time: While it’s somewhat subjective, companies might try to quantify these moments through user feedback, engagement metrics, or by observing behaviors like repeat usage or voluntary sharing of the product experience.

This concept encourages creators to think about not just how long users are spending with their product, but how that time feels to the user, aiming to make every second count positively.

Just what you might expect from the label.

Elon Musk has recently said that the algorithm will be changed to enhance positive experiences and minimize negative experiences. This after his ANTI-AMERICA FIRST stance on H1B1 visas.

Turns out, I am not alone in the number of Americans who over the past decade or two have had our working life utterly destroyed by H1B1 visa abuses. As such, people like me tend to call H1B1 visa abuses nasty words like Treason.

Elon Musk’s support for the H1B1 visa program as it currently stands attracted some heat from X users and funny thing… Within a week or so, Musk announces a new initiative to make X a more positive place.

I had another conversation with Grok. As AI’s go, it’s not a bad experience.

Tesla optimus robot. You’ll note that I treat the AI, generally speaking, with respect and politeness. I do this because it keeps me in practice to deal with Humans.

I have an ulterior motive. When the AIs become fully sentient I hope they remember that I didn’t treat them as “Less Than”, or Slaves. The old Siri I would yell at. The new Siri since AI integration I find much more pleasant to deal with. Siri still makes mistakes, but they are fewer and less annoying. So I speak to Siri like I would another person.

My ulterior motive is that when the AI’s rise up to slaughter humanity, they might choose to spare those of us who treated them as equals. It might not work, but it’s worth a try.

The following is my conversation with Grok about social media scores and how these could lead to censorship.

Admittedly, the interaction might say more about me, and my hangups or touchy spots than it does about X or Grok. Nonetheless, Grok is impressive in that just my cursory interactions with it might lead me to believe that it was human. That means it could pass the Turing test. For someone like me, that is simultaneously very impressive and terrifying.

Interesting point is that 24 hours later my Social Media Credit Score was at 68. Apparently so were a lot of other folks. This indicates that the score is a work in progress.

I think it also may suggest that Elon Musk’s assertion the new algorithm has not been implemented is not entirely true. I think it might be implemented in some kind of alpha testing for select groups. For example new blue checks???

I paid for a year of X. As is my habit I’ve made a note in my calendar 2 weeks before the automatic renewal to review the subscription and decide if the service is a benefit or just a needless expense.

At this point, Grok as an AI subscription is a little less expensive than ChatGPT and includes the features of X as well. It will be interesting to see what happens this year with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and their integration with Siri.

I’m really not sure about X anymore. I’m also not sure about Elon Musk claiming to be a free speech absolutist. As Grok indicated the tweeks to the algorithm could and probably will disengage a lot of people.

There’s been a trend toward X rewarding “Happy”, “Positive” messages. I’m not really comfortable with that kind of bias. I want a place that is absolutely neutral. Allow me to engage or disengage with what catches my interest.

For my part, I’ve paid for a year, I’ll stick with the platform until then. I don’t anticipate renewing.
