At least for now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the weekend, I noticed an article reporting Apple had decided to delay their roll out of CSAM scanning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report dropped on Friday and it’s unclear if Apple will push forward at a later date but for the moment Apple has put it on hold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think it’s a good thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s also unprecedented. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple never backs away from something they’re planning to release. At this point they’re saying that they’ll invite opinions from privacy protection groups and the “feel<\/em>” is they’re going to be inviting input from developers in the privacy arena. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This doesn’t mean that they’ won’t push forward at a later date, but it does mean that for now, our devices won’t be spying on us, (any more than they do already<\/em>,) I’m calling it a win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That being said, I’m going to be watching privacy settings very closely and being a lot more alert to any changes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t have anything to hide but at the same time I’m not willing to just leave my digital doors and windows open all the time either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After all, who doesn’t from time to time get a naked photo of a friend? LOL!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
